1. Fascism is a far-right ideology that focuses on the purity of the nation as an entity. They tend to target those they consider impure, like homosexuals or immigrants (cough cough), and attempt to purge them from the country by any number of means. They are totally authoritarian and they believe the state should regulate the economy, BUT unlike socialism and communism, are pretty hardcore about private property, and are violently anti-strike (and, to that extent, anti-worker, which both socialism and communism are not). There are usually hardcore religious and racist elements in fascism. As an unbroken rule, they are complete pieces of shit.

    Doesn’t this make it seem like those Republicans that don’t like homesexuals, immigrants, brown-skinned people, etc… are fascist? I’m going to start calling them fascists from now on, just to keep it straight.

    Wait, Republicans favor state regulation of the economy? This is news to me, I thought they were all about capitalism being unfettered by such inconveniences as “environmental regulations” or “unions”.

    I agree that they don’t like those aspects, but they do to some extent favor state regulation in the sense that it benefits corporations and the 1%. For instance, they favor the 2000 act that deregulated derivatives, a permanent war economy (but Dems like this too for the most part), or the Citigroup Relief Act which repealed Glass-Stegall.
